The World's Largest Monolith "Mt Augustus", Western Australia

Mt Augustus, the world's largest monolith, lies about 450 kilometers east of Carnarvon, a western town in Western Australia. Its surrounding area is designated as Mount Augustus National Park.

While Ayers Rock is known around the world as a monolith, Mt Augustus is about 2.5 times the size of Ayers Rock and the world's largest monolith. It is 858 meters high, and was formed by uplift of sandstone and conglomerate from early Proterozoic era
