Strait of Gibraltar

 Strait of Gibraltar connects Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. And it runs between North Africa and Iberia Peninsula.

It is 13 km wide at the narrowest point. The drift of the ocean floor current is constantly to Atlantic Ocean from Mediterranean Sea.
The Gibraltar rocky hill which is located at the south end of Iberia Peninsula and Mt. Avila in Ceuta, which is a Spanish territory in North Africa were called Hercules columns.

  Strait of Gibraltar is a British protectorate and there is a sand isthmus between Spanish mainland. An airport is located on the reclaimed land in the isthmus.
