The new airport is located on Yongjong Island, 52km from central Seoul, with two 4,000m class runways.

The new airport was opened on March 29th, 2001, and it will expand the capability of the regional connectivity as an Asian new hub because of its ideal location at the geographic center of Asia-Pacific region.
