Announcement of approval of the transition to the general foundation by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan

Our organization was approved by the Cabinet Office of Japan to become the general foundation from non-profit organization on April 1, 2013. Although our organization has already became to cover entire space related technical field from the development of satellite systems to their utilization, and to provide solutions response to the necessity of the human society at the merger of three non-profit organizations under METI last year, the structure of the organization has been changed and enhanced according to the approval of the transition. The objectives are to enhance the activities of our organization to contribute more to the society by the synthetic effect of the merger and the development of new contribution field.

By the legislation of the Basic Law for the Space Activities on May 2008, and by the era of the acceleration of the promotion of the industrialization has come, Institute for Unmanned Space Experiment Free Flyer (USEF), Japan Resources Observation System and Space Utilization Organization (JAROS) and Earth Remote Sensing Data Analysis Center (ERSDAC) were merged on March 30th, 2012, and started activities as Japan Space Systems (J-spacesystems). Our activities has been already entered into new field by the synthetic effect of the merger, such as to support developing countries based on the globalization of the space development activities, and also based on the provision of the total solution from the development of the satellite system, ground data processing and the promotion of the data utilization.

We will take this start of the general foundation as a good opportunity and by the modification of the organization to enhance the our activities, and more to strongly contribute to our society, and will cooperate with our industrial community to popularize the development and utilization of the space deeply in to the general public's every day livings, and also to obtain international competitiveness of our space related industries.
